DKP Policy
|
Last updated November 13,
2003 DKP System General
Conviction has adopted a DKP system that is directed toward
the fair and equitable distribution of all drops the guild
obtains while raiding together. All guild raids will utilize
the DKP system for accrediting time and points and accounting
for the distribution of gathered loot.
DKP may be granted or
applied to other situations based on the judgment of the DKP
and/or other officers of Conviction. In all circumstances
where the DKP System shall be deemed to be in use, it shall be
announced to all guild members. Conviction will utilize the
EQDKP program that was independently developed and
subsequently offered at www.eqdkp.com. All DKP records will be
public and available for each guild member to review and/or
question.
If any member or applicant has a question about any
entry in the DKP records, they are encouraged to contact the
DKP officer and resolve any issues that might have arisen from
this. If said conflict cannot be resolved, members are welcome
to address any issues with the remainder of the guild’s
officers in order to obtain satisfaction of the issues. Guild
officers, or the majority thereof, will have the final
authority on any DKP resolution.
Mechanics
Members shall be
credited X number of DKP per raid target based on a
pre-determined number that will be set forth in the DKP system
database. These numbers are dependent upon the target chosen.
Each target will have been assigned a DKP value based on
difficulty of the kill, difficulty to reach the mob, and total
time spent on the encounter.
Applicants that have been
initially accepted are expected to attend as many guild raids
as is possible. In this fashion, both guild and applicant will
be able to “get to know one another” and determine if
Conviction is the best place for the applicant. Phase One
applicants receive 1/2 (half) DKP. Phase 2 applicants receive
3/4 (three-quarters) DKP. Guests, which are those persons who
would like to raid with us first before submitting an
application officially, will earn ½ (half) DKP for the raids
they attend. Members and applicants may invite guests to guild
raids at any time, just make certain to check the feasibility
of the invitation with an officer first.
On raids where items
are available from a mob killed, they will be offered to
members first. If no members want the item, it will be offered
to member alternate characters in attendance at the raid and
to applicants. If the item still remains unclaimed, it will be
offered to guests and applicant alternate characters in
attendance at the raid. If no one desires the object after
that, it will be offered to member alternate characters not in
attendance at the raid, then applicant alternates not
available at the raid. If no one desires a dropped object that
is tradable, it will be collected and added to the guild
vault. If no one desires a dropped object that is not
tradable, it will be destroyed and accredited to rot.
Occasionally, officers may utilize discretion in offering this
type of item for lowered DKP cost.
The DKP officer will
announce the loot drops for each target in raid chat or guild
chat, so that everyone in attendance may see what is
available. The DKP cost for each item will also be announced.
The DKP officer will work the items individually in
determining distribution. The item will be linked, DKP cost
announced, and the hierarchy listed above put in use in
looking for those interested in the loot. The DKP officer will
ask anyone interested in the piece to announce their interest
in raid chat openly. The item will then be awarded based on
which interested person has the highest number of DKP saved
currently.
For instance: A Super-Shiny Sparkling Wand of
Shimmering Delights drops off the Jigglypuff Queen in the
Plane of Pokemon. Fred and Wilma each want the item, which
costs 10 DKP. Fred has banked 12 DKP. Wilma has banked 22 DKP.
Wilma will automatically win the wand and the ten DKP will be
subtracted from her total. If two interested parties each have
the exact same DKP totals available to them, they will /random
to determine the distribution of the item. All interested
parties are required to be of the appropriate class, race,
deity, and level in order to utilize the item being bid for –
UNLESS, they are the only bidder and are saving the item from
rotting.
The guild officers will strive to balance out the
number of DKP awarded against the number of DKP that will
theoretically be expent in the hopes of keeping the system
balanced. They reserve the right to “tweak” mob or item
numbers in order to attain and retain this balance. All
changes to the DKP Policy will be publicly announced on the
guild boards before taking effect. All members are free to
offer their suggestions for improvement of the DKP System on
the boards or to the DKP or any other officer.
Point Total
Specifics DKP points are granted based upon a four tier
system. Mobs will fall into one of each of the four tiers. The
segregation of mobs into their respective tiers is based upon
difficult of the target, quality of items dropped, and amount
of time required to take down a mob. Tier One - .5 DKP - Easy
targets, i.e.: BoT Tower Bosses, Tormax, Dozekar. Tier Two -
1.0 DKP - Lower PoP Tier Bosses, i.e.: Grummus, Aerin'Dar,
Carprin Deatharn Cycle. Tier Three- 2.0 DKP - Upper Tier
Bosses and Elemental Minis, i.e.: Saryrn, Mithaniel Marr,
Rallos Zek the Warlord, Sol Ro. Tier Four - 3.0 DKP -
Elemental Bosses and Time Gods, i.e.: Coirnav, Xegony, Fennin
Ro. DKP will also be awarded based on the time spent raiding.
Members will earn .5 DKP for each hour spent raiding
independently of the chosen target. This will help account for
the large amounts of time necessary to reach certain targets.
It will also provide a recompense for time spent even when the
actual target kill fails.
Items will be awarded a specific DKP
value based upon the stats and effects to be found on the
item. Each stat/effect will have a specific, pre-listed and
static value. All values will be totaled to find the final DKP
cost of the item in question. This formula has been hard-coded
into a system which allows the DKP officer to enter the name
of an item and retrieve the actual DKP value back for that
item. Certain stats weigh more heavily than others, for
instance, stamina is worth more and therefore costs more to
purchase than agility. Additional weights have been given to
hit points and mana granted by items. A list of costs to be
added to this base for each effect and for flowing thought is
in the process of generation. These set amounts will be posted
for all to review and will be added to the coded cost given
for an item by the generator.
An example would be: ITEM FOUND
Name: Cap of Drowned Souls HP: 100 MANA: 85 AC: 18 STR: 0 STA:
13 DEX: 13 AGI: 0 WIS: 15 INT: 0 CHA: 0 PR: 0 MR: 20 DR: 0 FR:
15 CR: 0 DMG+ELE/DLY: 0+0/0 SKILL MOD: No POINT COST HP Cost:
7.553552470765 MANA Cost: 5.8715205501856 AC Cost: 1 STR Cost
(1x/15): 0 STA Cost (1.5x/15): 1.3 DEX Cost (1x/15):
0.86666666666667 AGI Cost (1x/15): 0 WIS Cost (1x/15): 1 INT
Cost (1x/15): 0 CHA Cost (0.75x/15): 0 Total Resists: 35 --
Cost: 2 TOTAL COST: 19.591739687617 DKP cost will be rounded
to the lowest whole number. A Cap of Drowned Souls would
therefore cost 20 DKP plus an addition 6 DKP (3 each for each
level of flowing thought) for a total of 26. At this time, the
officers reserve the right to tweak this formula for fairness
as we receive data and input back on raids from members.
Ornate and elemental molds and patterns are special items and
need to be treated separately. With that in mind, ornate
breastplate/tunic/robe molds/patterns will have a cost of 20
DKP, ornate legs/arm molds/patterns will cost 15 DKP, all
other ornate molds/patterns will cost 10 DKP. Elemental
breastplate/tunic/robe patterns will cost 50 DKP, elemental
legs/arm molds/patterns will cost 40 DKP, all other elemental
patterns/molds will cost 30 DKP.
Recording of Data Attendance
at raids will be monitored and recorded by the DKP officer
using a combination of manual records with screen shots
snapped every 30 minutes from the commencement of the raid.
Players will be accorded DKP for the percentage of the raid
they attended base on 25% increments. If a player was there
for the entire raid, they get 100% of the DKP awarded for that
raid. If a player was late and met the raid half-way through,
the player will be awarded 50% of the DKP granted for that
raid. Etc. It is your responsibility to inform the DKP
Officer, or the person tracking attendance, when you arrive
late to any encounter. That way, you’ll be certain to get the
proper credit for time you spent raiding.
It is also your
responsibility to inform the DKP Officer, or the person
tracking attendance, if you are playing as an alt or with a
secondary, “two-boxed” character, to ensure that proper raid
credit is given to the appropriate person.
Raid data will be
available for review and revision for a 10 (ten) day period
following the date of the encounter. Members and applicants
are responsible for verifying that their raid time was
appropriately accounted for during that period of time. Any
inquiries or problems after that date will be deemed to be
invalid and the records will stand.
Runes/Spells/Other Quest
Drops Some items are accounted for outside the auspices of the
DKP System. Those items would include spell drops, parchments,
runes, and various quest items that we may encounter during
any kill. Spells will be accorded to members that need them
first. If more than one full member is in need of a spell,
/random will decide who obtains it first. All members may
random on any spell they do not possess and are of proper
level to use. If no members need any spell, it will be placed
in the guild spell vault for future incoming members. Please
NOTE, however, that some spells are of a rare and unique
nature. The officership retains the right to alter this policy
to reflect class need, usability, and maximum effectiveness
for the guild in allocating these rare spells. An example
might be Remove Greater Curse, which will be given to druids
first, shaman second, paladins third, and clerics fourth. The
first two classes are in a far better position to utilize this
spell in general, and it would benefit the guild to distribute
the spell accordingly. Spectral parchments will be available
to full guild members who have reached level 63 or higher
first. Members will /random if they are still in need of 63/64
spells. If no member needs these parchments, the randoming
will be open to guests and applicants. If no one attending the
raid needs parchments, they will be collected and turned in
for other guild members or for the guild spell vault. Rune
drops will be available to full, level 65 guild members only.
Members will /random if they are still in need of 65 spells.
If no member needs these runes, they will be collected and
turned in for other guild members or for the guild spell
vault.
Various quest items often drop during our raids. In
distributing these items, the officers will take into account
usability of the final reward and state of advancement through
the quest. For instance, if a warrior and a wizard are working
on the gate necklace quests and have both progressed to the
same level, the warrior would be given precedence if a quest
item drops merely because he doesn’t have gate readily
available to him. The wizard does. If two warriors were in the
same situation, yet it was the final piece for only one, he
would be granted the item. If the situations are too close to
differentiate clearly, then /random will decide the
distribution.
Guild Bank Transfers Tradable items that drop
for which no one has any immediate use will be placed in the
guild vault. Members will have full access to the items in the
guild’s vault. Items maybe “purchased” from the guild vault
for the same number of DKP as they would have been available
for on the raid that they dropped. Members may contact the
Guild Vault Officer in regard to this. Droppable items may
also be return to the guild vault when an upgrade is obtained.
Members will be credited back ½ (half) the DKP they paid for
the item – whether the item was gotten during a raid or
purchased originally from the vault. Members may, at any time
they feel called, make donations to the guild vault or spell
bank that will be useful to their guildmates. At this time, no
DKP will be rewarded for this generous act, but a thanks will
be posted to that particular member.
Disclaimer In formulating
this policy, the creators have endeavored to make the DKP
system and the distribution of raid-attained and
guild-attained loot and spells as unbiased and even-handed as
is possible. However, the right is reserved by the guild
officers to alter and adjust this policy in the future as
needed, if needed, to balance the system out more and/or to
correct exploitive abilities that may have accidentally been
overlooked.
